Before that I led engineering teams at Afiniti, a $1B+ AI company, and built the rendering infrastructure behind an AI video platform producing 10,000+ videos a day.

2025 — present

ReadyOn builds scheduling software for large US hospitality companies. I own five core areas of the platform. The biggest is the compliance engine, which checks schedules against labor law and union contracts before they reach hourly workers. I designed it, built it, and maintain it.

  • Designed and built the labor-law compliance engine that validates every scheduling decision against employment law and union contract terms.
  • Lead the Shifts IDE, the interface managers use daily to build and adjust schedules.
  • Built integrations with Kronos, UniFocus and ABI covering 100,000+ workers.
  • Shipped agentic scheduling: shifts auto-fill within legal constraints, and managers make changes through an AI chat interface.
  • Part of the core AI team, working directly with the CEO and CTO. Joined during Series A.

Afiniti uses AI to pair callers with call-center agents for large enterprises. I led a cross-functional team of backend, frontend and SRE engineers on the routing engine at the center of the product, reporting to the CTO.

  • Kept the core AI routing service above 99.9% uptime for global enterprise clients.
  • Built a real-time configuration portal serving 900,000+ agents, deployed with zero downtime.
  • Designed the architecture for the Amazon Connect integration.
  • Moved service logs to GROK pattern matching, the foundation for the company's largest monitoring project.
  • Cut deployment time from hours to under 20 minutes by containerizing the CI/CD pipelines.

About me

I'm based in Lahore and work US hours, and I've built my career that way. My mornings are quiet and my meetings start in the evening, which suits how I like to work: deep work first, people later.

I'm mostly a self-taught engineer, and a lot of what I know comes from open source. Contributing to Saleor and the Apollo GraphQL ecosystem taught me how to work in large codebases with people I'd never met, and eventually put me on stage at the Apollo Summit in New York.

Away from the keyboard I follow football, watch anime, and always have a book going.
